OUR TEAM

Terry Roberts
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Terry received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama and worked for 36 years in that field with NASA. After retiring in 2017, he has turned his laser-focus and methodical management skills toward helping individuals in our community find their God-given purpose with IF and other ministries through his church roles at the Highlands in Huntsville. Married to Tonya, he has 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Terry believes that through a relationship with Jesus Christ, all individuals have an opportunity to make an impactful difference in this world.

Joy Martin
Spiritual Guide & Development

Joy has been serving Jesus all her life. She grew up a “preacher’s kid” and received her B.S. in Christian Ministries at Tennessee Temple University. Serving with her pastor husband, Roger, at churches in the northern U.S. for 19 years, they heeded God’s call in 2012 to pick up and move to Huntsville to live in underserved communities there. Joy has 4 children and 8 “grands.” She sees IF as Barnabus from the Bible, whose name meant “Son of Encouragement,” because the ministry “gives hope, promise and dignity to those who have been under-valued” in our society. Joy maintains that this is is the best job she has ever had.

Harriette Mathews

Publicity & Media Coordinator

Harriette is originally from South Carolina, and she has worked in many facets of advertising and marketing since graduating cum laude from the University of South Carolina at the age of 20. Her B.A. in Journalism, Minor in Marketing and Certificate of Print Production have allowed her to work in printing companies, advertising agencies, newspapers and a variety of non-profits in the U.S. and Canada. She loves telling the story of humans in their journey toward their divine purpose, so her gig with Intentional Faith is a gift from God. “I am humbled to be part of such a visionary organization that so positively affects people’s lives — IF’s impact on the community is simply exponential!” she says.

Candace Bennett
Administrative assistant

Candace is from Memphis, Tennessee, but moved often with her family who served in the pastoral ministry. Upon receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Care and Pre-Chaplaincy from Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, she moved north to complete a Master’s in Pastoral Counseling. God led her and her husband, Daniel, back to the Rocket City. Candace sees Intentional Faith as being instrumental in helping people maximize their hidden potential through spiritual mentorship, support and resources. “We help people step into the purpose of God,” she says.
